It comes with great pleasure to welcome our newest member to the Carver Group, Janine Entwistle. Janine comes to us after a five year stint with the Cliffs. She will be working in the capacity of assistant project manager. This is exciting in the respect that we believe she will be a good asset to our company but most importantly this means that we have some work and need some help! It’s been a huge dry spell from our last housing start. We’ve been very fortunate to have had some very nice remodel projects, but nothing like some fresh coming out of the ground starts.
We have two new projects starting at the Reserve at Lake Keowee, side by side on the Great Lawn, and we have a nice addition to a home at Cliffs Falls South. We have been given a verbal commitment for a new home at Cliffs of Glassy, which is currently being designed. We are getting some more serious looks than we have had in the past couple of years.
We are making a concerted effort to get a presence in NW North Carolina, specifically Cashiers and Lake Toxaway. We had previously built five homes there in the 2004-’06 time frame and look forward to getting back into that market.
One thing I am trying to impress upon our newest potential clients is that we are most definitely past the bottom as far as costs to build. Commodities are on the upswing, especially fuel driven products.
Keep up with our changes and progress as we’ll keep you updated as things continue to change.
